The Prairie du Chien Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Thursday and arrested a Prairie du Chien man on drug charges. The traffic stop occurred on Highway 18 around 1:30pm and K-9 “Rico” did a free open air sniff of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded multiple baggies used for storage of Methamphetamine. A passenger in the vehicle, 47 year old Kelly “Bo” Slavings Jr. of Prairie du Chien, was taken to Crossing Rivers Hospital for a medical evaluation after stating he was having a medical emergency. Shortly after arriving at Crossing Rivers, Slavings left the hospital and his whereabouts are unknown at this time. Slavings faces charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Maintaining a Drug Trafficking House. Those charges will be referred to the Crawford County District Attorney’s Office. Slavings is currently wanted for a felony probation violation warrant. The driver of the vehicle, 43 year old Sheri Schroeder of Prairie du Chien, will also be referred for Methamphetamine related charges. Officers later searched a house in which the occupants of the vehicle reside and found multiple items of Methamphetamine Paraphernalia and Methamphetamine. Further charges and arrests may occur.
