Richland County authorities responded to a residence in Cazenovia Sunday around 4am where a man was inside the home with a gun in the presence of his family. 30 year old Matthew Hastings of Cazenovia was arrested after Richland County Dispatch received a call requesting a welfare check on Hastings and his family. The caller was concerned about an incident that took place earlier in Yuba involving the Hastings family. Another call was received from a person who was at the Hastings residence. That person stated that Hastings had a gun and was in the residence with his family. Deputies and Officers from the Richland Center Police Department set up a perimeter around the home. Phone contact was made with Hastings and he was later taken into custody without incident. No one was injured. K9 Rambo was deployed and was able to locate the firearm outside the residence. Hastings was charged with going armed while intoxicated, 2nd degree Reckless Endangering Safety, and Disorderly Conduct. He was taken to the Richland County Jail.
