Adams’ current contract runs through the end of the upcoming season, and reports indicate the two sides have been trying to work out a deal for months. However, Adams reportedly wants to be the highest-paid wide receiver in the league after leading the NFL with 18 touchdown receptions, while also racking up 115 catches for 1,374 yards.
Adams broke the Packers’ single-season record for catches and tied the team record for touchdown receptions with those numbers.
Even if the two sides are unable to reach a deal before Adams reaches free agency, the Packers could use the franchise tag on him next offseason to keep him around another year and continue negotiations.
Packers training camp begins on Wednesday, July 28th.
