A 24-year-old Platteville has received multiple citations after leaving the scene of a crash early Sunday in rural Grant County. According to a sheriff’s office report, Colten Hying was driving on Reynolds Ridge Road – about 5 west of Rockville – when he failed to negotiate a curve. Hying’s vehicle crashed into an embankment and continued another 125 feet into a pasture. Authorities say the crash happened around 2am Sunday – however the Grant County Sheriff’s Office wasn’t notified until around 7:30 Sunday morning when someone found the unoccupied vehicle. Deputies said both airbags were deployed and there was evidence of injuries. The sheriff’s office says a passenger – 23-year-old Lindsey Walton of Benton – was treated at Grant Regional in Lancaster around 2:30am. No injuries were reported for Hying. He’s been cited for operating too fast for conditions and failing to report a crash.
