Thunderstorms brought heavy rain and damaging winds overnight to portions of the tri-state area. According to the National Weather Service, winds brought down two 2-foot-diameter trees a mile north of Dubuque. The storm also dumped 1.35 inches of rain on the Dubuque area. A trained spotter in Rickardsville reported 1.84 inches had fallen from the storms as of about 6 a.m. Tree limbs were broken and shingles blown off in Burton and in the town of Waterloo in Grant County, Also, a 51-mph wind gust reported in Nora, Illinois in eastern Jo Daviess County.
