State and local officials will be on-hand for a pair of ceremonies to mark a new designation for the Great River Road. The stretch of roadway that winds along the Mississippi River has recently been named an All-American Road by the National Scenic Byways program. The honor is given to the best driving routes in the country – highlighting their scenic beauty and cultural importance. The first ceremony on Tuesday (Aug 3) is going to be at 11a inside the Travel Wisconsin Welcome Center in Prairie du Chien. There will be another event on Tuesday at 3p at the Potosi Brewery. Representatives from area communities and state officials are inviting the public to attend these ceremonies and help celebrate the new All-American Road designation.
