The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants to limit the number of wolves hunters are allowed to kill in the November season to 130. Hunters killed 218 wolves in just four days last time, nearly doubling the state’s quota of 119 animals. A judge’s ruling forced the D-N-R to launch a season in February. Officials with the state agency sent a memo to the Natural Resources Board saying they want to take a conservative approach to the fall hunt. The recommendation will be considered at a meeting next Wednesday in Milwaukee.
