A Mount Hope woman, who served as the secretary-treasurer for the Bagley Volunteer Fire Department, will serve a year of probation for stealing from the organization. The sentence for 58-year-old Jodi Moris was handed down recently in Grant County Circuit Court. She had entered a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor charge of theft. She was initially charged with felony theft. Investigators say Moris took almost $13-thousand dollars from the department for personal use. If she violates the terms of her probation, Moris could serve 9 months in jail. The former Bagley Fire Chief – 31-year-old Ryne Jackely – was also charged with theft after authorities looked into multiple suspicious transactions dating back to early 2019. Jackley entered a no contest plea and was fined $300-dollars last month.
