Officials with the National Weather Service have released their initial report regarding a tornado that moved across northern Grant County on Saturday. According to the weather service office, the path of the EF-3 tornado stretched across roughly 10 miles, with a max width of almost a thousand yards. The tornado reached peak wind speeds of 150 miles per hour – causing damage to several homes, buildings and trees in the Boscobel area. National Weather Service officials say the most extreme damage was found about 3 miles southeast of Boscobel along County Highway T. No injuries were reported during the tornado – which was on the ground for more than 20 minutes Saturday evening. Officials at the National Weather Service say they will update their report as more information becomes available.
