NWS Says Boscobel Tornado Strongest In Wisconsin Since 2008

The tornado that destroyed several homes and buildings near Boscobel over the weekend was the strongest storm in Wisconsin in more than a decade. According to updated information from the National Weather Service, officials have upped the windspeeds from Saturday’s tornado to 160 mph – making it the strongest the state has seen since 2008. Crews declared the tornado an EF-3 after surveying damage over the weekend. The storm had a path length of roughly 10 miles and a max width of more than 1,000 yards. The National Weather Service has also confirmed a second tornado – that was an EF-1 which touched down near Highland Saturday evening. It had peak winds of 90 mph and damaged two barns. No injuries were reported with either tornado.
