Mineral Point Man Arrested For 3rd OWI

A man from Mineral Point has been arrested for his 3rd offense of OWI. The arrest occurred after an Iowa County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on Antoine Street near Shake Rag Street in Mineral Point Sunday just after midnight. As a result of the stop, 61 year old Larry Schmitz of Mineral Point was arrested and taken into custody. He was transported to the Iowa County Jail, where he was booked on his charge and later released after posting bond.
