Several hundred residents in Fennimore were without natural gas after a line was struck Monday morning. According to an update from city officials, crews hit a line at the intersection of 8th Street and Lincoln Avenue around 10:15. They were doing pre-construction work where a new Kwik Trip is being built. Fennimore fire officials say the gas line that was struck wasn’t marked. Grant County Emergency Management evacuated residents within a 2-block radius of the leak and nearby businesses were closed. Everyone was cleared to enter the area again just before noon. WE Energies had shut off the line to make repairs – causing the disruption in service.
