A passenger was injured in a one-vehicle accident just after 5pm Thursday. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, 16 year old Coy Ruegsegger of Blanchardville was travelling east on Kainz Road in Argyle Township when he failed to stop at a stop sign and went through the intersection. Ruegsegger over-corrected, causing him to enter the ditch and strike a tree. Ruegsegger reported no injuries, but his passenger, 17 year old Madison Cook of Blanchardville was taken to Monroe Clinic Hospital for her injuries. Ruegsegger’s vehicle had moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Ruegsegger was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of His Vehicle and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign. Argyle Fire, Argyle EMS, and Blanchardville Police assisted at the scene.
