Platteville School District Meeting

The Platteville School Board is proposing an almost 8% drop in its total tax levy for this year. The proposed budget of just over $8-million dollars is a roughly $700-thousand dollar decrease from last year’s unaudited figure. The largest portion of the cut comes from the district’s general fund, which represents a decrease in property taxes. The Platteville School Board will present the full spending plan at its Budget Hearing on Wednesday (Oct 27) in the high school’s auditorium. That hearing starts at 6:30 with the district’s annual meeting to immediately follow at 7pm.
