Galena Man To Be Sentenced For Killing Girlfriend

A Galena man is set to be sentenced this month after pleading guilty to killing his ex-girlfriend earlier this year. Court officials say 22-year-old Richard Forsythe’s next hearing will be November 23rd in a Dubuque County Courthouse. Forsythe pled guilty to a charge of 2nd-degree murder for fatally stabbing 20-year-old Jennifer Lopez. Authorities found her body at the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in February. Forsythe’s court-ordered GPS ankle bracelet was also found nearby. He faces a minimum of 35 years in prison.
