More details have been released about a shooting incident that happened in Potosi early Friday. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports 37-year-old Megan Breuer was at her residence on North Main Street in Potosi. Officials say 47-year-old Aaron Osthoff of Dubuque forced his way into the home during the early morning hours – which led to Breuer calling 911. The two knew each other and a sheriff’s report says the extent of their relationship is still being determined. Authorities say Osthoff shot Breuer in the head and neck area before turning the gun on himself. Osthoff was pronounced dead at the scene. Breuer was taken to Grant Regional Health Center and later transfered by med-flight to UW Hospital in Madison. The sheriff’s report says Breuer is in stable condition. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
