Two People Arrested in Lafayette County on Multiple Charges

Two people were arrested by Lafayette County Deputies Saturday night. Around 9pm, 30 year old Oscar Ortez-Murillo of Darlington was arrested on Highway 81 in Darlington Township following a traffic stop. Ortez-Murillo was arrested for his 2nd offense of Operating While Intoxicated, Operating After Revocation, Obstruction, and on a valid Lafayette County warrant. Ortez-Murillo was also cited for Possession of Open Intoxicants, Failure to Maintain a Tail Lamp and Unsafe Lane Deviation. Also arrested was 28 year old Marlon Serrano of Darlington, a passenger in the vehicle. Serrano was arrested on three valid Lafayette County warrants and was also cited for Possession of Open Intoxicants. Both Ortez-Murillo and Serrano were taken to the Lafayette County Jail where they were booked on their charges and remain in custody.
