Crash Leads To Drug Arrest

A rural Platteville man faces drug charges following a two-vehicle crash Monday evening just east of Dickeyville. According to a Grant County Sheriff’s Office report, emergency crews were called around 5:15 p.m. to a stretch of Highway 151 near the McAdam Road overpass. Officials say 31-year-old Jerry Lee was driving north and merged into the passing lane to go around a semi. Lee failed to see another vehicle already in that lane and struck the front passenger side of that vehicle. No injuries were reported in the crash. But, as deputies were investigating, a K9 officer detected drugs in Lee’s vehicle. Officials learned Lee was under the influence of marijuana and he was arrested for OWI. Lee has also been cited for unsafe lane change.
