Potosi Man Dies In Hovercraft Accident

A Potosi man is dead after crashing his hovercraft near Bagley Wednesday morning. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 77-year-old Gary Kaiser was pronounced dead at the scene. Kaiser was operating a hovercraft on the frozen waters of the Mississippi River shortly after 8:30. According to a sheriff’s report, it’s believed Kaiser suffered a medical event after leaving an area near Jay’s Landing. His hovercraft then struck a tree on an island about 100 yards from the shore. Multiple emergency response teams assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
