A long-time Chief of Police in Prairie du Chien has passed away. Gary Knickerbocker spent more than three decades serving with the Prairie du Chien Police Department – almost 25 of those years as the Chief of Police. During his years of service, Knickerbocker was recognized with multiple honors and awards for his work in the line of duty. A Galena native, his family would later settle in Prairie du Chien, where he remained after graduating high school. Funeral services for 78 Gary Knickerbocker will be this Saturday at Saint Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien.
