A 5th Democrat has announced plans to run for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District this fall. The most recent candidate to step forward is 67-year-old Mark Neumann of La Crosse. The retired physician worked as a pediatrician for 35 years and spent a half dozen years serving as a medical missionary in Africa. Neumann joins the race for Congressman Ron Kind’s seat. Kind said this past summer that he would not seek re-election. A primary will be held in early August for the Democratic candidates. So far, only one Republican has announced that he is running for the seat – Kind’s challenger from 2020, Derrick Van Orden.
