Two people from Platteville were injured after their vehicle crashed at the end of a high speed chase in Dubuque Monday around 1am. Authorities say the high-speed chase reached speeds of more than 100 mph. 40 year old Demetris Ross of Platteville, who was the driver of the vehicle, was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg. 27 year old Martese Ross of Platteville, who was the passenger, was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital with minor injuries. Authorities attempted to pull over Ross’ vehicle because of an outstanding warrant at about 1 a.m. Monday on North Cascade Road. Ross stopped for the officer initially and then fled the scene after officers made contact with him, His vehicle traveled on U.S. Highway 20 at speeds in excess of 100 mph before crashing into a snowbank and hitting a light pole and tree. Demetris Ross was arrested on a number of charges and Martese Ross was arrested for failure to appear in court.
