This has been Bus Driver Appreciation Week. Many area schools have set aside time to recognize bus drivers for their service. Districts in general are seeing worker shortages, but there continues to be concerns about future driver shortages. According to a recent study, bus drivers were one of the hardest hit positions during the pandemic as numbers decreased by 13%. The study found the biggest group leaving were those in the age range from 25 to 35-years-old – while those 55 and older stuck with it. CESA 3 officials remind residents to contact your local district if you’d like more details on helping an area school.
