Badgers take down Boilermakers, clinch share of Big Ten championship

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Badgers narrowly defeated the Purdue Boilermakers Tuesday night, clinching a share of the Big Ten championship.

With seconds left before the final buzzer, the Badgers tied up the scoreboard at 67 each. Then Chucky Hepburn stepped back and banked home the game winner, securing the Badgers’ spot as Big Ten champions for the second time in three years.

Johnny Davis, who dropped 37 on the Boilermakers in January, had quite a first half, but Hepburn did not, recording 11 points by halftime. The Badgers led by five at half, but Purdue battled back to a three-point lead by the end of the second half.

Ultimately, the Badgers came out on top with a 70-67 win.
