A state grant will send more than $3-million dollars to the City of Lancaster to address housing needs. According to a release, Lancaster was awarded a grant worth $3.4-million dollars from the Wisconsin Neighborhood Investment Fund Program. The money will support the development of 40 new units for workforce housing. The city is working with Wisconsin Management Company – which owns and operates Sunrise Apartments in Lancaster. Officials say the goal is to break ground this year and complete the project within 18 months. City staff and council members plan to hold community input sessions to get feedback from residents. This grant is part of a nearly $650-million dollar investment for community building and recovery efforts statewide.
