Two people from Soldiers Grove have been arrested for drug charges following an investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. According to a release, deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle along Halverson Ridge Road the evening of February 28. The driver fled and tried to elude officials by driving across a field – where he lost control of the vehicle and slid into a grove of pine trees. The driver then tried to leave the area on foot, but was apprehended by deputies. Authorities arrested 46-year-old Joshua Czap for eluding an officer, recklessly endangering safety, resisting arrest, possession of meth paraphernalia and was given numerous traffic violations. Later that evening, Crawford County deputies executed a search warrant at Czap’s home in Soldiers Grove. Officials found several drug related items and arrested 43-year-old Shawn Otterson – who also lives in that house. Otterson faces charges of maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of meth paraphernalia. The incident is under investigation.
