Mineral Point Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman in connection to the death of a 4-month-old child. In a release, authorities say Joanna Ford faces a charge of neglecting a child resulting in death. According to police, Ford was the child’s daycare provider on February 25 when the child was injured. Reports show the 4-month-old was initially taken to Upland Hills Health, and later transferred to UW Hospital in Madison via Med-Flight. The child died March 1 from injuries that hospital staff say were the result of physical abuse. The Mineral Point Police Department is continuing to investigate the case. Officials are asking for anyone with information on the care of children in Ford’s presence to call police at 608 – 987 – 2313.
