A Prairie du Chien K9 officer has helped authorities with a pair of drug investigations recently. According to an update from Prairie du Chien Police, the K9 assisted the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office on March 28th. The K9 alerted officials to the odor of controlled substaces inside a vehicle. Law enforcement discovered more than 6 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia in a safe under the driver’s seat. The K9 officer was also utilized for a call on March 30th regarding a burglary just east of Prairie du Chien. During a traffic stop on a vehicle associated with the burglary, the K9 indicated the presence of controlled substances. A search yielded meth, THC, drug paraphernalia and other controlled substances. Neither suspect was identified in either case.
