Grant County’s SKYWARN severe weather spotter training will be at 6:30pm tonight in the Lancaster High School Hillery Auditorium. Training is free and open to the public. SKYWARN spotters help keep communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service. The class lasts about 2 hours. It covers: the basics of thunderstorm development, fundamentals of storm structure, identifying potential severe weather features, what information to report, how to report, and how to keep yourself safe. A virtual class is also planned for 6:30pm Tuesday night. For details, contact Grant County Emergency Management.
