The trial for two Mineral Point women – charged in the death of a 13-year-old girl – is set to begin this week. Alexis Barry and her mother, Laurie, both face a charge of 1st-degree reckless homicide. The two were caring for Selah Kaden in 2018 when she died. A forensic pathologist determined Kaden died from suffocation and a patterned beating with blunt force. Officials believe more than one person was involved in her death. The Barrys’ trial in Iowa County Circuit Court begins Thursday.
