One of the 11 men charged following a prostitution sting in February has pled guilty in his case. Reports show that 57-year-old Craig Mason of Stoughton, a former UW-Plattteville instructor, was given a deferred judgement, and has been sentenced to two years of probation. As part of his sentence, Mason must pay a $25-hundred dollar civil penalty – plus a $1-thousand dollar human trafficking surcharge. Under deferred judgment, if Mason’s probation and payment obligations are completed, a record of the case is expunged. All of the men were arrested during a joint operation by Dubuque Police, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol.
