Governor Tony Evers has joined eight Midwest governors in a letter to the US Environmental Protection Agency in support of year-round sales of E15 fuel. Last fall, Evers and the Midwest governors sent a letter to the EPA. A few months later, the Biden Administration issued a temporary waiver to allow the blend to be used this summer. The action on Thursday urges the EPA to issue a permanent fix and allow the sale of E15 year-round annually. E15, or Unleaded 88, is a mix of regular gasoline and 15% ethanol, a plant-based fuel typically made from corn, and is cheaper for consumers. The Wisconsin Biofuels Association thanked Evers for joining in this cause.
