A woman from Platteville was injured in a crash in Jo Daviess County and later arrested on drug charges. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, 36 year old Cassandra Edge of Platteville was taken to a hospital for treatment after a crash last Tuesday around 4:20am in rural Scales Mound. A release by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department says that Edge and 52 year old Tammy Stanton of Cuba City were involved in a crash on North Elizabeth Scales Mound Road, south of County Highway O. Stanton and Edge claimed that a man they did not know was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash, then fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle has not been identified or located at this time. Stanton was arrested on a Jo Daviess County warrant later that day. Edge was arrested Saturday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe and resisting an officer.
