The deal includes a $30 million signing bonus, a record for a defensive back. Alexander would have entered the final year of his rookie contract this year. The extension also makes him the NFL’s highest-paid defensive back.
Alexander’s extension comes about two months after quarterback Aaron Rodgers announced he would be staying in Green Bay. He reportedly signed a 4-year, $200 million contract that would make him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Drafted by the Packers in the first round in 2018, Alexander has become a staple of the team’s secondary since his rookie season. He started every game in 2019 and 2020, amassing 90 regular-season solo tackles over that stretch.
Alexander’s 2021 season was limited by a shoulder injury, but in the four games that he did play in the regular season, he grabbed an interception and 13 total tackles.
The Packers are still a few months away from returning to the field, but their schedule was revealed last week.
