For the first time, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore has been named one of 10 finalists for a prestigious education award. According to a release, the $1 million Aspen Prize is the nation’s signature recognition of community colleges that are achieving high, improving and equitable outcomes for students. The prize is awarded every two years and recognizes colleges for performance in five areas: certificate and degree completion, teaching and learning, transfer and bachelor’s attainment, workforce success, and equitable outcomes for students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.
