Governor Tony Evers has signed an emergency order prohibiting price gouging of gasoline and diesel as prices continue to rise around the state. According to the American Automobile Association, the average price of a gallon of gas in Wisconsin is $4.83, just shy of the national average of $4.97. Evers said his emergency order will help prevent people from taking advantage of the already challenging price hikes. The order, which declared that the state is in the midst of a “period of abnormal economic disruption” prohibits price gouging on gasoline and diesel until December 1st of this year.
