A man from Boscobel was arrested by Crawford County Authorities Sunday after a follow-up to a theft investigation. The investigation took place on property in Marietta Township where, after speaking with landowners, an investigator came upon a suspicious vehicle parked on the owner’s property. The person parked on the property was identified as 34 year old Robert Haskin of Boscobel, who gave conflicting stories of why he was on the property. Haskin also showed signs of impairment. It was determined that Haskin was on the property to steal ginseng. A search of Haskin’s vehicle found a plastic baggie of a crystal-like substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, and a glass smoking device with burnt white residue. A Wisconsin DNR warden search the immediate area and found a woman hiding in the woods. She was identified as 21 year old Miranda Rabe of Blue River. Rabe admitted to hiding because of an active arrest warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Both Haskin and Rabe were arrested and taken to the Crawford County Jail. Haskin was charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating after revocation, and obstructing. Rabe was charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing, and held on her active warrant.
