A stint on the IR is nothing new for Watkins. Drafted in 2014 by the Buffalo Bills, he missed much of the 2016 season with a broken foot, sat out multiple games in 2018 with a foot injury, and missed eight games in 2020 with hamstring and calf issues.
Watkins isn’t the only Packer dealing with injury issues. David Bakhtiari is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay, as he continues his two-year comeback from a knee injury. Wide receiver Randall Cobb is also listed as questionable and did not practice in the back half of this week due to illness.
Tight end Marcedes Lewis is questionable due to a groin injury, though he did participate in practice Friday in a limited capacity. Wide receiver Christian Watson is the fourth Packers player listed as questionable. Watson did not practice on Thursday and Friday due to a hamstring issue.
There is some good news for the Packers in this week’s injury report. Guard Elgton Jenkins returned to full practice this week, and wide receiver Allen Lazard is expected to play after getting over an ankle injury.
Tampa Bay is also dealing with a host of injuries heading into Sunday’s contest. Wide receiver Chris Godwin is out with a hamstring injury, and receivers Julio Jones, Russel Gage and Breshad Perriman are questionable.
The Buccaneers will also be without top receiver Mike Evans, who was suspended one game this week for his role in a fight with Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore in last week’s game.

The Packers travel to Florida on Sunday to take on Tom Brady’s Buccaneers. It is the first time in NFL history that two three-time MVPs have faced off against each other. Sunday’s game is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT
