Team Red wins in Badgers annual Red-White Scrimmage

MADISON, Wis. — And it’s already time to start talking hoops.

The Wisconsin men’s basketball team held its annual Red-White Scrimmage Sunday afternoon, giving fans a chance to check out the team before the regular season gets underway in a couple weeks.

Freshman guard Connor Essegian led Team Red to the win with 15 points. He was also 3-4 from distance. Leading all scorers was junior transfer Max Klesmit who tallied 17 points – nine of which were off triples.

The Badgers will host UW-Eau Claire for an exhibition game on Oct. 30 and then open the regular season at home against South Dakota on Nov. 7.
