A dangerous outside hitter, Franklin tallied 20 kills in Friday’s sweep of Iowa and 16 in Sunday’s win over No. 24 Michigan. She also registered 11 kills against the Wolverines for her fourth double-double of the season.
Franklin has registered 206 kills and 100 digs through 16 games this season, including a season-high 22 kills in the Badgers’ early-season loss to Baylor.
This isn’t the first time Franklin has been in the spotlight. She was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week in February of last year while playing for Michigan State. She was named First Team All-Big Ten at the end of that season.
Franklin will get a chance to play against her former team on Friday when Michigan State visits UW Field House. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
Sunday’s victory extended Wisconsin’s winning streak to six, and their overall record sits at 13-3. The Badgers are currently in second place in the Big Ten, just behind a 16-1 Nebraska team that is undefeated in conference play.
The Badgers will get their first shot of the season against Nebraska when the Cornhuskers come to town on October 26. Tickets for that game have already sold out.
