While Watkins is coming off the IR, Randall Cobb is headed there. Cobb suffered an ankle injury during last week’s game against the Jets. It was initially feared that he had broken his ankle, a potentially career-ending injury, but scans showed that he only suffered a high ankle sprain. The knock was expected to keep him out for 2-6 weeks. By going on the IR, he is guaranteed to miss at least four weeks.

Cobb appeared in every game so far this season, recording 18 catches for 257 yards. He was a favorite target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers on third down. He is in the second year of his second stint with Green Bay.
The Packers also placed center Jake Hanson on IR. Hanson, who was drafted by the Packers in 2020, appeared in the first six games this year but only started once.
Injuries continue to be a problem for Green Bay. Offensive tackle David Bakhtiari is questionable for Sunday’s game as he continues to recover from a devastating knee injury that kept him out of action for over a year.

Rookie wide receiver Christian Watson is out for Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, guard Elgton Jenkins was limited in practice this week due to a knee injury and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt is listed as questionable with an unspecified injury.
Aaron Rodgers’ status for Sunday is unspecified, as he recovers from a thumb injury that he suffered on the final play of the game against the Giants two weeks ago.
The Packers travel to Washington, D.C. on Sunday to take on the Commanders, who will be without starting quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz was put on IR on Saturday.

Green Bay is looking to break a two-game losing streak and avoid losing three games in a row for the first time since 2018. The Packers have won the last two meetings between the two sides, a 24-10 win in 2021 and a 20-15 win in 2019. Both of those games were at Lambeau Field.
The last time the Packers visited Washington was in 2018, with the hosts winning 31-17 thanks to two passing touchdowns from Alex Smith and two rushing touchdowns from Adrian Peterson. Aaron Rodgers tossed two touchdowns to Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison.
Sunday’s game kicks off at noon CT.
