A lot has happened since that October triumph. Let’s look back.
Oct. 2 – Just an hour after Mason Crosby’s kick secured the Packers’ win over New England, the Wisconsin Badgers held a press conference to announce that head coach Paul Chryst was let go after a 2-3 start to the season. Defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was appointed interim head coach.
Oct. 3 – The Milwaukee Brewers opened their final series of the season with a win over Arizona.
Oct. 4 – The Brewers won their second game in a row over Arizona. New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hit his 62nd home run of the season, breaking the American League single-season home run record.
Oct. 5 – The Brewers played their final game of the season, a 4-2 loss to Arizona.
Oct. 7 – The Major League Baseball postseason began with a newly-expanded Wild Card round. The National Hockey League season began with Nashville defeating San Jose in Prague. Former Badger Ryan McDonagh recorded an assist for the Predators.
Oct. 8 – The Badgers blew out Northwestern to give Jim Leonhard the first win of his career as interim head coach.
Oct. 9 – The Packers played their first-ever game in London, losing to the Giants at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Oct. 15 – MLS Cup Playoffs began
Oct. 16 – The Packers lost to a New York team for the second week in a row, falling to the Jets at Lambeau Field.
Oct. 20 – The Milwaukee Bucks opened the regular season with a win over Philadelphia.
Oct. 22 – The Badgers got a Homecoming win over Purdue thanks to a pair of interceptions by John Torchio. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 44 points as the Bucks opened Fiserv Forum with a win over Houston.
Oct. 23 – The Packers dropped a third straight game, losing to the Commanders in Washington, D.C.
Oct. 27 – Elon Musk acquired Twitter.
Oct. 30 – Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva defeated incumbent Jair Bolsonaro to become president of Brazil. The Packers narrowly lost a fourth-straight game to Buffalo.
Nov. 4 – The Bucks broke a franchise record, winning their eighth straight game to open the season.
Nov. 5 – MLB and MLS wrapped up postseason play with the Houston Astros winning the World Series and LAFC winning the MLS Cup. Philadelphia became the first city in history to lose two championships on the same day.
Nov. 6 – The Packers’ losing streak grew to five games after a last-minute drive against Detroit came up short.
Nov. 7 – The Bucks’ franchise-record winning streak was snapped at nine games. The Indianapolis Colts fired head coach Frank Reich. Jeff Saturday, who had no prior professional coaching experience and played a season with the Packers, was named interim head coach.
Nov. 8 – Voters headed to the polls across the US for Election Day.
Nov. 13 – Jeff Saturday won his first game as interim head coach of the Colts, despite having no prior professional coaching experience. A short time later, Mason Crosby’s kick secured the Packers’ win over Dallas.
The Packers are back in action on Thursday to take on the Tennessee Titans. Fans will hope that they won’t have to wait as long for the team to win another game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CT at Lambeau Field.
