conservative law firm known throughout Wisconsin for litigation against schools and other governing bodies, is publicly calling on the Monroe School District to “redo” an $88 million referendum last fall. Residents discovered tax impacts of the referendum were often hundreds of dollars more than advertised. The school district has since apologized for misleading communications about the referendum before it passed by about four points last fall. Residents have repeatedly called on the district to set aside the results of last fall’s referendum and call a new referendum, now that the tax impacts have become clear. Earlier in January, the school board told residents they couldn’t reverse the results of the referendum.
