Dodgeville Man Dies in Crash

A man from Dodgeville died in a crash in Iowa County Wednesday morning. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 9:10 a.m. on Brennan Road at U.S. Highway 151. In a news release, the sheriff’s office said the driver, 38 year old Derrick Lee of Dodgeville was heading east at a high rate of speed when he drove off the road and hit a cement bridge pillar. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said Lee was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was not wearing his seatbelt. His death is the county’s first deadly crash of 2023.
