Forecasters are warning of an extreme fire danger today with unseasonably warm temperatures combining with strong winds and low humidity. The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the entire tri-state area, including Iowa, Crawford, Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties in Wisconsin, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties in Iowa, and Jo Daviess County in Illinois. The weather service reports that southwest winds could gust as high as 40 mph, while daytime temperatures rise to near-record levels. Forecasted high temperatures will be in the 80s today. The normal high temperature for this time of the year is 56 degrees.
