Work is scheduled to begin next week on Highway 78 in Lafayette County, near Gratiot. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced that the highway is set to be reduced to one lane between Highway 11 and County Highway D beginning April 24th. Governor Tony Evers signed a $2.2 million contract to fund the work. Highway 78 will be resurfaced between Gratiot and Wiota. Curb ramps will also be updated and pavement markings will be replaced. The project is set to wrap up in July.
