A former Richland County deputy accepts a plea deal in a sexual assault case. Timothy Buckley pleaded no contest Monday on a charge of misdemeanor fourth degree sexual assault. A bail report filed in August alleges Buckley improperly touched an inmate. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says Buckley resigned his position as deputy after he was placed on administrative leave. His charges were amended after originally being charged with second-degree sexual assault along with other charges. Buckley must serve four months in jail and pay $200 in fines, plus court costs.
