The Mississippi River has dropped below 20 feet at the Dubuque railroad bridge. Despite some light rain Monday morning, the river level has fallen to 19.2 feet as of this morning, according to the National Weather Service. The river had crested at about 24.3 feet around noon on April 29th at the bridge, where the flood stage is 17 feet. Forecasters predict the river will drop below flood stage around May 15th in Dubuque. The river also dropped to 18.05 feet as of 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bellevue where the flood stage is 17 feet. Upriver, the river stage at Guttenberg has dropped to 15.8 feet this morning. Flood stage is 15 feet at Guttenberg.
