Crawford County Emergency Management has announced a collaborative effort with Prairie du Chien High School to organize a massive sandbag cleanup event today. This initiative aims to restore and revitalize the community after recent flooding, leveraging the enthusiasm and energy of high school students as volunteers. The sandbag cleanup will begin this morning, starting at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers will gather at the baseball/softball fields parking lot on St. Feriole Island in Prairie du Chien, where they will be assigned to various cleanup teams and will be provided with the necessary equipment and guidance. Teams will then disperse throughout the city, targeting areas most affected by the flooding, including riverbanks, residential neighborhoods, and commercial districts.
