A Monroe man died Saturday night after a single-vehicle crash outside Brodhead. Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highways 11 and 81 and County Highway GG just before 11 p.m. for a report of a crash and a severely damaged vehicle. An investigation reportedly showed that the man was traveling west on Highway 81 when he failed to stop at a stop sign, traveled across Highway 11, and onto County Highway GG. Green County Sheriff’s officials said the man’s vehicle then went into a ditch, collided with a mound of gravel, overturned then collided with a cement pillar. The man was wearing his seatbelt but the airbags did not deploy.
